Patricia Carol Evans is a native of Oregon who comes to First Christian Church of Albany after almost 15 years of ministry at First Christian Church of Selma, Calif. She is a graduate of Chapman University in Orange, Calif., where she earned her bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology. Next, she earned her secondary teaching credential at Southern Oregon State College in Ashland. In 1980, she received her master of divinity degree from the School of Theology in Claremont, Calif., and was ordained.
During her seminary days, Patty, as she is known to most folks, was associate pastor of First Christian Church of Fullerton, Calif. She also served First Christian Church of Tucson, Ariz., as a student intern and did an additional six months of internship for the Regional Office of the Christian Church in Oregon. She was senior minister at Artesia Christian Church in California for 8 years before she was called to Selma.
Patty is a musician who plays the piano, guitar, cello and psaltery. She loves to read and has traveled to more than 20 countries around the world. Although she is single, her parents and her brother, John, live in Corvallis, where John is pastor of First Christian Church. Her sister, Holly Evans-White, operates a French bistro called "The Cellar Cat Cafe" in Glen Ellen, Calif., and her eldest brother, Steve, is a retired history professor who lives in Idaho. |
